EPISD Apple Academy

The EPISD Apple Academy is an opportunity for teachers to improve their skills in using the MacBook or the iPad to improve their abilities to integrate technology into the classroom. In order to complete the Academy, participants must schedule time with an Instructional Technology Specialist to design a lesson incorporating the tools on the MacBook or iPad. Following this initial meeting, the Instructional Technology Specialist will co-teach the lesson with you.

Apple Clips is an iOS app for making and sharing fun videos with text, effects, graphics, and more. Students can use Clips as a creative way to demonstrate learning: to describe a concept, deliver a book report, or tell a story. Kids might interview several classmates on a subject and then learn how to edit the video using the simple Trim feature. Since the captions feature is available in so many languages, Clips is a great option for practicing and presenting in dual language classes.

Classroom is a powerful iPad app that helps you guide learning, share work, and manage student devices. It supports both shared and one-to-one environments.
You can launch a specific app, website, or textbook page on any device in the class, share documents between teacher and students, or share student work on a TV, monitor, or projector using Apple TV. You can even see which apps students are working in, mute student devices, assign a specific Shared iPad for each student,
and reset a student’s password.
